Meeting Highlights & Program
February 2010
Tony and Mark provided a wonderful program
from their ever-growing collection of Frankoma Pottery's
Woodland Moss glaze. (Check out the
October 2008 Meeting Highlights
to see their first program on Woodland Moss and for some history
on Frankoma pottery.) They have been collecting Frankoma for
almost two years now and have gained a lot of knowledge,
appreciation, and pieces.
The Woodland Moss glaze was used from 1960
through 1974. Most Frankoma pieces are marked and numbered so
it is easy to determine the pattern or style line.
Frankoma Pottery
remains active today.
Mark and Tony shared many of their Aztec
pieces in Woodland Moss, including a stunning canister set and
four different styles of salt and pepper shakers. They also
showed a hybrid butter dish consisting of an Aztec lid that
looks very good with a Westwind bottom (until an Aztec bottom
shows up). Tony and Mark also offered a number of pieces in
other Frankoma dinnerware patterns, with the common theme being
the Woodland Moss glaze.
